In 1958, major European Associations in this field - ANIMA among the promoters - supported the constitution of a European Committee: PNEUROP (European committee of compressor and vacuum pump manufacturers), which began its activity in 1960.
The Federation was one of the founding members, and ever since with great commitment follows the committee’s work. Among the first results achieved by PNEUROP were the multilingual terminology and the standardization of norms in the member-countries.
PNEUROP, that promotes the cooperation between the members, develops European programs for fostering the solution of problems of common interest.
The PNEUROP Committees particularly active at present are the following:
• Committee 2 - Compressors
• Committee 3 - Pneumatic tools
• Committee 5 - Vacuum equipment
• Committee 6 - Pressure vessels
• Committee 7 - Marketing Committee
• 14 - Air treatment Committee
• 18 - Process compressors
The PNEUROP Plenary Assembly takes place every year by rotation in one of the member-countries. These are: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland/Liechtenstein, Turkey and United Kingdom.
COMPO experts participate in the PNEUROP plenary meetings with proposals concerning the definition of new technical norms.
